Exclusive Dominic West Interview JK: So what is it?  Baltimore?  The cast?

DW: You just look at the nominations, and it's just too democratic a voting system, too many people with too little taste with too much voting power.  I'm just glad we didn't get the odd nomination and lose.  It's better that we were completely ignored.  Then we can be outraged, and we have this pristine reputation.  It's above all that.

JK: All the DVD rentals are getting the actors visibility anyway, right?  Wendell was just on "Numb3rs."

DW: "Numb3rs"? They haven't asked me.

JK: It's a CBS crime drama about an FBI agent and his mathematician brother who uses math to solve crimes.

DW: Well, Wendell is on everything.  Prostitute.  When I was in LA last, it was always, "I've heard a lot about "The Wire" but never seen it." Maybe the DVDs are the way to get into it.  My friends in England saw it that way.  Maybe it's not a show to watch once a week.  And many people don't have HBO.  Here in the 'hood it's all pirated.  David Simon told me a story of him on the train to New York, and someone came up to him and offered to sell him a pirated DVD.
